- Perimeter
- The total distance around the edge of a shape.
- Area
- The amount of space inside a 2D shape, in square units.
- Perpendicular height
- The height measured at right angles to the base.
- Compound shape
- A shape made from two or more simple shapes.
- Trapezium
- A quadrilateral with one pair of parallel sides.
- Capacity
- How much a container holds, in ml or litres.
- Lower bound
- The smallest value that rounds to the given number.
- Upper bound
- The value where rounding switches up to the next number; the interval stops just below it.
- Error interval
- The range of possible values, e.g. \(8.25 \le l < 8.35\).
- Truncate
- Cut off digits without rounding.
- Prism
- A 3D shape with the same cross-section all along its length.
- Cross-section
- The shape you get when you slice through a solid at right angles to its length.
